The complete list of 2023 Tony Award winners

The 76th Tony Awards ceremony was hosted this year by Ariana DeBose and is the first major awards show to be affected by Hollywood’s ongoing writers’ strike. Despite fears of a possible cancellation, the show went on, with critical darling "Kimberly Akimbo” and top play "Leopoldstadt" leading with the night's biggest awards.

Sharing the spotlight were nonbinary actors J. Harrison Ghee and Alex Newell, who made history for the LGBTQ+ community with their Tony wins. Also, in capturing the 2023 best play award for “Leopoldstadt," his fifth award, Tom Stoppard breaks the record he shared with Terrence McNally.

This year’s Tony nominations were led by the stage adaptation of “Some Like It Hot’’ with 13 nods, followed by musicals “& Juliet,” “Shucked” and “New York, New York,” each with nine nominations.
