Cromwell-Wright school construction project groundbreaking, 2 p.m. The public is invited to celebrate the project slated to be finished this fall. Jay Cooke and the Northern Pacific Railroad with Ken Buehler, 10 a.m., Cloquet Public Library. Cloquet is just a stone's throw from Carlton, where the Northern Pacific Railroad started its westward trek, and Jay Cooke State Park. Jay Cooke, who was involved in both, is a complex story of rags to riches to rags. Ken Buehler transferred from a career in broadcasting to one of history when he began running the Lake Superior Railroad Museum at the St. Louis County Depot in Duluth.
