Community Calendar: Chilloween and more

Oct. 26—Community Chess Club, 3:30-5 p.m., Cloquet Public Library.

Chilloween, 5:30-9:30 p.m., Cromwell Pavilion. The family event will run from 5:30-7:30 p.m., with the event for students in grades 7-12 running from 8-9:30 p.m. Costumes are encouraged. Anyone with questions can call 218-838-6275.

Halloween Spooktacular, 6-8 p.m., Encore Performing Arts Center and Gallery, 2035 Hwy 33 South, Cloquet. County Seat Theater Company will host its annual Halloween Spooktacular. Attendees will be able to drive through spooky scenes in the parking lot while listening to recorded ghost stories told by County Seat Theater actors on their car radios. There will also be free hot chocolate, an outdoor Halloween movie, Scaryoke, spooky walking trails, a fortune teller and various Halloween activities. Minnesota Power provided a grant supporting inflatables for kids. There will also be animatronics in the gallery for those who want more of a scare. The family-friendly event has a suggested donation of $5 per person or $20 per car with proceeds going toward County Seat Theater's garage/workshop expansion.

Washington Elementary School Fall Ball, 6-8 p.m., Washington Elementary School, 801 12th St., Cloquet. Washington Elementary students and families are invited to the school's Fall Ball. All students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the event. The night will feature dancing in the gym; popcorn, hot dogs, root beer floats and treats in the cafeteria; games and prizes; a movie screening in the media center; a book walk; a costume parade at 7 p.m. in the gym; and a raffle. The cost is $3 per person or $10 per family. There are additional costs for raffle tickets, treats and games.

Bedtime Essentials Giveaway, 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Cloquet Public Library. The library hosts a bedtime essentials giveaway for children, while supplies last.

Prescription Drug Take Back event, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Walmart, 1308 Minnesota Highway 33, Cloquet. Community members can get rid of unused medications and prescriptions at the free event in the Walmart parking lot.

Potluck dinner and cash bingo, 5:30 p.m., Cromwell Pavilion. The Cromwell-Wright High School Choir will host the event, which kicks off with a potluck dinner at 5:30 p.m. Bingo will follow from 6-9 p.m

3rd Annual Texas BBQ fundraiser, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 515 Skyline Blvd., Cloquet. Community members are invited to support a great cause and enjoy some smoked BBQ, including brisket, chicken, sausage and/or pulled pork.

Ham and Turkey Bingo, 6 p.m., Industrial Community Center, 7519 Albert Road, Saginaw. The Industrial Volunteer Fire Department hosts its annual Ham and Turkey Bingo night. The family-friendly event will feature food, fun and friends. Cash games are 25 cents per board.

Beyond the Bump: Growing Together, 5-6 p.m., Community Memorial Hospital. This is the fifth of an eight-week class that will empower and educate moms through the beginning stages of motherhood. Topics covered will include: introducing solids, what to expect during teething, returning to exercise and the importance of pelvic health, and managing expectations and mental health.
