Jan. 26—Oppenheimer

The movie Oppenheimer will be showing today at 2 and 7 p.m. at the Fischer Theatre in downtown Danville.

The theater is celebrating its 140 year anniversary this year. In observance of that anniversary, all movies are free, with freewill donations accepted.

Lakeview Alumni to meet

The Lakeview College of Nursing alumni will meet on Feb. 2 at the college. Planning will begin for the alumni newsletter and banquet. For information, contact Nancy Cunningham at 497-7643.

Sunrise Rotary to feature work by Jim SheehanSelections of wood and clay artistic work by Jim Sheehan of Danville will be shown at the Danville Art League to the Danville Sunrise Rotary Service at their Thursday meeting on Feb. 15 at 7 a.m.

There will also be a tour of the Danville Art League building, especially the clay studio. Coffee and rolls will be served and visitors are welcome. Park in the lower parking lot off Franklin Street — across from the CRIS Senior Center — and enter the South door at 310 N. Franklin St. There is no cost to attend.

Sweet Adelines coming to DACCRain, snow, wind, ice ... We've all been inside way too much. It's time for some fun, so come to Musical Treasures with the Danville Sweet Adelines, where a trip into Grandma's attic reveals a treasure of timeless tunes that the whole family will enjoy.

The show is Saturday, February 10, at 3 p.m. at the Danville Area Community College Bremer Theater.

A dinner prepared by the DACC Culinary Arts Chefs follows the show.

No Littles program at library next week

There will be no Littles at the Library program at Hoopeston Public Library on Tuesday, Jan. 30. Programs will resume on Tuesday, Feb. 6.
