Comics, Singers & Olympians Vie to Host ‘SNL’ Via Twitter

Saturday Night Live started an online riot the likes of a Black Friday sale on new iPhones when they tweeted:

The not-so-humble proposals came pouring in for all walks of celebrities that fans insist would be “perfect” for the gig. And hey, no one can be worse than Rudy Giuliani, right? Oh wait, I forgot about Taylor Swift. That 10-minute “Californians” sketch was absolutely brutal.

Rachel Bloom, star of The CW’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, was repeatedly nominated, and she responded with her own audition tape for SNL from 2012, in which she impersonated Katharine Hepburn auditioning for Space Jam… for some reason…

Billy Eichner from Hulu’s Difficult People was also suggested, and he responded with a photo of himself as a chubby extra in a 1992 SNL sketch with John Goodman.

Simone Biles also made the case for Team USA to be a five-headed host. If Lorne Michaels will let Michael Phelps do it, I’d say the gold medalist gymnasts have a shot.

Other suggestions were rapper Riff Raff, DJ Calvin Harris, Broadway star Laura Benanti, who does a killer Melania Trump impression, and Vine star *shudder* Shawn Mendes, who is currently leading a Billboard.com poll for the position.

SNL lost their Obama and Trump impersonators this year. Check out SuperFan TV’s goodbye to Jay Pharoah and Taran Killam…
