Comic Con 2015 Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. panel preview

Comic-Con 2015: Everything you need to know before the 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' panel

Will Coulson need a hand in the new season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? No, seriously. His was chopped off in the season finale! That’s among the many questions we hope get answered during Friday’s Comic-Con panel. To prepare for the big event, EW is here to give you a refresher on where the ABC super series left off:

Where we left off: During the big Inhumans vs S.H.I.E.L.D. war, Coulson (Clark Gregg) sacrifices himself by grabbing a falling Terrigen crystal, but Mack (Henry Simmons) saves his life by chopping off his arm. Cal (Kyle MacLachlan) spares Skye (Chloe Bennet) the task of killing her evil mother Jaiying (Dichen Lachman) and instead does it himself, after which he goes through the Tahiti protocol and goes off to live a happy life. After the remaining Terrigen crystals fall into the ocean, we see how they go on to infect fish before landing in the unsuspecting hands of (In)humans via fish oil pills. Meanwhile, Coulson and Skye appear to launch the Secret Warriors program. Elsewhere, Bobbi (Adrianne Palicki) and Hunter (Nick Blood) walk away from S.H.I.E.L.D. after the former was tortured by Ward (Brett Dalton) and Agent 33 (Maya Stojan) — whom Ward accidentally kills and blames S.H.I.E.L.D., so he becomes the new head of Hydra! Also, May (Ming-na Wen) goes on hiatus with Andrew (Blair Underwood), and Fitz (Iain de Caestecker) and Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) plan to go on a date, but she get sucked up by the mysterious Kree stone.

What we know about season 3: Yes, the Secret Warriors are coming! We’ll be meeting a number of new characters (both friend and foe) inspired by the Secret Warriors comic series as Coulson searches the world for other powered people — thanks to those fish oil pills, no doubt — though the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will discover that they’re not the only ones tracking down these new Inhumans. But having a spy organization within a spy organization will rub people the wrong way, especially as the cost of keeping secrets takes a focal point next season. Also, everyone will be on the hunt for Simmons as the Kree stone is among the new threats, along with an even more dangerous and emotionally unstable Ward. Get more scoop here, here, here and here.
