Comedian Katt Williams Charged with Disorderly Conduct After Alleged Fight with Teenager

Comedian Katt Williams has been charged with disorderly conduct following an alleged fight with a teenager at an apartment complex outside Atlanta, PEOPLE confirms.

Sgt. Kevin Holbrook, a spokesman for the Gainsville Police Department, tells PEOPLE that there are two active warrants out for Williams’s arrest and that law enforcement officials have been in touch with the comedian’s lawyer.

Earlier this month he was charged with aggravated assault, false imprisonment and making terroristic threats after he allegedly threatened to kill his bodyguard. In February he was arrested after a store clerk accused him of punching him during an argument.

“We hope that he will turn himself in, and we expect him to, but he is not in our custody yet,“ Holbrook says, noting Williams owns a home in Gainsville.

Holbrook says that in addition to disorderly conduct, Williams is also wanted for allegedly violating the terms of his bond. He says Williams’s bond has already been revoked, meaning he’ll likely end up in jail once he turns himself in.

Holbrook says investigators started building a case against Williams after cell phone footage surfaced online last week, allegedly showing him punching a 17-year-old who then wrestled Williams to the ground, placing him in a chokehold.

“These charges stem from the fact that Mr. Williams engaged in this criminal activity in a public place, in front of minors, and used obscene, foul language during the commission of this crime,” says Holbrook.

Holbrook says Luke Walsh, the 17-year-old who allegedly fought with Williams, has also been charged as an adult with disorderly conduct, and is being held on $1,300 bond.

Williams’s lawyer, Drew Findling, did not respond to calls seeking comment Tuesday.
