Comedian Charlie Murphy Dead at 57 Following Battle With Leukemia

Charlie Murphy, a stand-up comedian and older brother of actor Eddie Murphy, passed away Wednesday morning in New York City, following a battle with leukemia, his manager confirms to TMZ. Murphy was 57.

Though Murphy had an extensive list of small-screen credits — including roles on Power, Black Jesus and The Boondocks — the comedian is arguably best known for his work on Chappelle’s Show, where he also served as a writer. Please enjoy Murphy’s infamous encounter with “Rick James” below:
