Comedian Brittany Schmitt is opening up about what she describes as her brief "situationship" with Armie Hammer.

Appearing on Wednesday's episode of her This Is the Worst podcast — which she co-hosts with Brittany Furlan Lee — Schmitt, 32, said that Hammer, 37, gave her a tattoo at the start of their relationship last summer.

“So, the first night we did hang out he did give us tattoos," she told her co-host.

"The first night? I thought this was after a couple weeks?" a shocked Furlan Lee — who is married to Mötley Crüe's Tommy Lee — asked in response.

Schmitt admitted it was "my bad in not noticing a red flag."

"They're on my hand. They're cute," she said of the cluster of tattoos given to her by Hammer, adding, "He was just doing stick and poke."

However, Schmitt went on to say that "it did escalate."

She continued, "He did order a tattoo gun and he started tattooing strangers. He called it cannibal ink" — a seeming reference to the 2021 allegations that Hammer sent text messages centered around cannibalism and BDSM fantasies. At the time, Hammer dismissed them as "bulls--t claims" but exited Shotgun Wedding, the comedy he was working on.

Schmitt said Hammer appeared to find the reference a joke.

“He thought he was being funny, and I'm like, ‘Maybe don’t lean into that.' But yeah, we got matching tattoos the first night, which I was in a dark place," she told Furlan Lee, explaining that she was just wrapping up a long tour and "not mentally strong" at the time.

Looking back, Schmitt said she regrets getting involved with Hammer between August and September 2023. "I'm not proud of the fact that I even entered into this thing, let alone that I got mentally f----- by him," she said.

Furlan Lee then reminded her friend and co-host that when Schmitt initially told her she was seeing Hammer, she said the Death on the Nile star appeared to be "in a healthy place."

But Schmitt said she later didn't feel he was. "Here's the thing — he's an actor, and he's a really good actor," she said. "And he's been given a new script on how to act to do this whole Hollywood recovery arc, this redemption arc."

She later added, “I do think he deserves an Oscar for the role he’s playing right now."

After his short relationship with Schmitt, Hammer began dating a woman named Marina Gris. In a post on her Instagram Story earlier this month, Gris shared that she and the Rebecca star broke up and ended an engagement after he appeared to propose to her in October.

"It's with a reflective heart that I announce the end of my journey with Armie, a chapter that's been deeply personal and warmly significant in my life and closed a month ago," Gris wrote in her post.

"Before you send me another unpleasant message: I am aware of the conversations and stories circulating around about him," she continued, addressing the sexual assault allegations previously made against Hammer, which the actor denied. "It's important for me to state that my personal experiences with Armie were positive and in no way reflective of these allegations."
