Remember when the end of the spring religious holidays marked the end of the season?

Then, as more young families moved into town, it was Memorial Day/end of school.

Now, apparently, it's the day after Independence Day.

A fresh wave of Palm Beachers brushed the fireworks ash from their Stubbsies and headed out to points north, seeking relief from the heat and the (inexplicably) still-clogged streets.

They might be disappointed. The word from Newport and the Hamptons and even Nantucket — where the joke is that there are two seasons, July and Winter — are reporting sizzling temps and stifling humidity.

Hey! Just like being in Palm Beach, except with fried clams.

In Southampton, newlyweds Bob Kraft and Dana Blumberg hosted an intimate Fourth of July party, one of several small parties they are said to be planning for the summer.

Kraft, who is bothered by the lack of civility among folks in these fractious times, reportedly thinks that getting people to eat, drink mingle together will do a lot to oil the waters.

They are off to a good start. Reports are the the bash was first-class all the way.

Dr. Dana handled the whole thing herself, from entrées to entertainment — which, by the way, was Dave Matthews.

Grandmaster Flash, the éminence grise of hip-hop, was the night's DJ.

Guests included Kevin Hart, rapper Lil Baby and country king Kenny Chesney. Covered all the musical bases, they did.

Also present was Tom Brady, who was spotted at Michael Rubin's earlier party reportedly "flirting" with Kim Kardashian.

Like, yikes.

Hamptons happenings ... Lots of Palm Beach sightings on the East End, chief among them Julia Koch, who has kept a very, very low profile since the death of her husband David four years ago.

She was among the guests at WaPo heiress Lally Weymouth's annual summer party.

Also spotted: Bob and Lauren Day Roberts, Leon and Cece Black, Paola Bacchini and Arnie Rosenshein and Ruth MiIller at a party hosted by Elizabeth Steimberg nd David Weiner at their Hampton Bays digs ... Sheri de Borchgrave at the ARTACOM artist's reception at Southampton Cultural Center ... Bill Manger, Brian Brady, Guy Clark and Harrison Morgan, Jeff Pfeifle and David Granville, Lis Waterman, Rick Rose and Robin Baker Leacock at the Halsey House bash ... Ala and Ralph Isham at the Madoo Conservancy's garden party, where they were honored for their continued support of the conservancy.

Newport report ... Once again, Palm Beacher Christina Kramer showed 'em how it's done when she claimed Best In Show honors at the Newport Flower Show with her Chinese-inspired ceremonial dagger, which looks like lacquer but is made entirely of plant materials. Last year she won first place in the Botanical Arts division with an all-plant necklace. Also doing Palm Beach proud was Elizabeth Leatherman, with a perfect hydrangea specimen in the horticulture division ... Word is that Maureen Donnell has settled into her Newport summer place.
