Columbus has been named among U.S. News & World Report's top 21 Pride parades and celebrations in the U.S. for 2023.

Spotlighted as the second biggest Pride celebration in the Midwest—behind Chicago, another city to make the list—750,000 people participate in the annual Stonewall Columbus Pride Parade and March, which take place June 16-17 this year.

U.S. News noted Columbus is "one of the fastest-growing and most LGBTQ-friendly cities in the country." The outlet also highlighted Stonewall Columbus' "Purpose. Passion. Power." theme this year, which serves as a reminder of the original Stonewall uprisings, highlighting the purpose of Pride protests as well as the passion and power of the LGBTQ+ community.

Stonewall Columbus' 42nd annual festival will begin at 4 p.m. on June 16 in Goodale Park, 120 W. Goodale St., with 200-plus vendors, two performance stages, a DJ and dancing pad, a community wellness area, a resource fair and more. The Pride March kicks off at High and Broad streets at 10:30 a.m. on June 17.

Stonewall Columbus Pride isn't the only LGBTQ+ Pride celebration taking place this month. A few suburban Pride celebrations are set to take place this weekend, as well as an art and fashion show from Black, Out & Proud and over a dozen more events throughout June.

U.S. News & World Report recently ranked Columbus among the top 150 places to live in the country.
