Athens-based Jackie O's Brewery celebrated the grand opening of its long-awaited debut in Downtown Columbus last month.

The Columbus Ale Trail is back for an eighth year, this time with 35 participating breweries in Franklin County.

The passport program, launching July 1, invites beer-lovers to visit craft breweries around the Columbus area, collecting stamps along the way to earn prizes.

To participate, pick up a free passport at any participating brewery and collect stamps after visiting each brewery. Once 10 stamps are collected, you can claim a die-cut Ale Trail sticker. Visit all 35 breweries to earn a T-shirt, available in sizes S to 2XL. Rewards must be redeemed by June 30, 2024.

Columbus Ale Trail co-founder Cheryl Harrison said that this year's trail features three new breweries: Jackie O's on Fourth, Buzzsaw Brewing Company and Hoster Brewing, which is set to open this summer. The passport booklets for Volume 8 feature an illustration by local artist Natasha Wheeler that depicts the buildings of all the breweries on the trail, as well as some other fun "Easter eggs."

"We're thrilled to have Natasha do it again," Harrison said. "Her design is really, really cool."

Passports can be redeemed at The Ohio Taproom in Grandview Heights, 1291 W. Third Ave.
