College theatre department enjoys a productive spring

May 13—The Navarro College Theatre Department has enjoyed a busy spring with performances and fundraisers.

The theatre group recently presented three performances of "Shakespeare Saves the Beares" at the college. The show has been so popular, they were invited to perform at the Scarborough Renaissance Festival in Waxahachie, marking the first time in the history of the college the Theatre department has performed at a ren faire. The group gave two performances during the second weekend of the Faire on the Travelers Stage.

In other theatre news, the group recently designated their most recent Wednesday night performance as "Animal Shelter Night," raising $300 for Corsicana's Animal Shelter.

Amy Plant, Animal Control Officer for the shelter, was presented with the donation.

Students participating in the production include Isabella Allen, Damarion Autry, Cheyenne Billingsley, Courtavious Bryant, Gavin Bishop, Nolie Blood, Bee Crowe, Christian Cuellar, Britney Delgado, Diana Delgado, Helena Eddy-Mizer, Fletch Fields, Carlos Gaviria, Jonathan Hamilton, Gabriel Hawthorne, Maddey Hennesey, Brandon Herrera, Skell Hough, Sol Meyer, Cat Nazar, Jazz Primous, Jesse Rodriguez, Rachel Tew, DT Thomas, and Laura Towles.
