Orange Is the New Halloween Costume
People online are crying foul after a Halloween costume that references the college admissions scandal was found on the clothing site Yandy.com.
Why Would You Want To Dress Up Like This?
The description for the "Yandy College Scandal Costume," reads:
"Oops, you can't always trust those motherly instincts. Turns out fame and intelligence don't go hand in hand! Bribe your way to the admissions office and score the ultimate scholarly achievement (the best mom award!) in this exclusive College Scandal costume."
This Should Be Outlawed
The model on the website shows off a tight-fitting, two-piece orange outfit with a cropped top, with "Mom of the year" crossed out and "Inmate" written just below it.
"It's never been easier to dress like Felicity Huffman for Halloween," wrote @WDAK on Twitter.
Felicity Huffman, of course, was one of many caught up in the college admissions scandal from earlier this year, when the U.S. Attorney's Office in Massachusetts said it had charged Huffman, Lori Loughlin, Mossimo Giannulli and dozens more with altering SAT scores and fudging their kids' athletic skills so that they could get into college.
Let's Stick With Normal Halloween Costumes
People are pointing out the obvious: that a company is trying to capitalize off other people's bad behaviors.
"This revolting 'costume' goes to show if there's a buck to be made from criminal behavior, some will find a way to profit from it. Just abhorrent. Capitalism at work," wrote Sjladude75Susan.
