Colleen Ballinger, aka Miranda Sings, reveals behind-the-scenes details of viral pregnancy video
On Monday, YouTuber Colleen Ballinger, the creator of the popular character Miranda Sings who also spawned a Netflix series, Haters Back Off!, visited Live With Kelly and Ryan for her first TV interview since her viral video announcing her pregnancy to the world.
Her videos revealing that she’s pregnant to her friends and family have each gotten millions of views.
Ballinger told Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest how she captured those special moments. “Luckily, I’m a YouTuber, so it’s not odd to be filming everything all the time, so people weren’t confused when I was filming them, but I tried to think of fun challenges and stuff.”
Ballinger added that her sister isn’t an emotional person, but when she found out that Colleen was pregnant through a “What’s in this box” challenge, she cried.
With Ballinger’s pregnancy, that means a baby bump is also on the way for her character, the hilariously prudish Miranda.
She explained, “The pregnancy test came back positive, so now Miranda is claiming that she’s the next Virgin Mary.”
