If you're a Riverdale fan, then you're already getting ready to say goodbye to the show as it heads toward the end of its seventh — and final — season.

You probably also know that Cole Sprouse (aka Jughead) and Lili Reinhart (aka Betty) dated IRL from 2017 to 2020.

During a recent group interview with the Riverdale cast for Vulture, Cole revealed that during his time on the show, he received a lot of harmful messages from the show's fans and followers — and he thinks that his relationship with Lili had something to do with it, too.

"I get a lot of stuff sent to my house or my loved ones' houses," he said. "Death threats, really nasty, honestly criminal stuff."

"And I do think it's because at least four of us at this table have dated our coworkers."

Camila Mendes (aka Veronica) and Charles Melton (aka Reggie) also dated for a brief spell back in 2018.

"Is that just a consequence of an incredible love?" Cole ruminated. "Or is that what fanaticism looks like? Perhaps because those lines were blurred to our audience, it's hard to break those things up when life moves on."

This isn't the first time Cole has spoken out regarding his and Riverdale's, uh, intense fanbase. Back in 2021, he addressed their behavior after they reported a picture of his current girlfriend, Ari Fournier, as "inappropriate" to IG.

"These kids are insane," he wrote at the time on his IG story. And it does indeed sound like everyone needs to cool down a bit!
