Colbert Drags Dr. Oz for Thinking He Was Running in a Coastal State: ‘He Does Not Know Where Pennsylvania Is’ (Video)

In his latest of many foot-in-mouth moments, Dr. Mehmet Oz implied Monday while speaking with Fox News’ Sean Hannity that Pennsylvania, the state in which he’s running for a highly contested Senate sea, is on the Atlantic coast.
“This is important,” he said. “We do not have a Republican Senator north of North Carolina on the Atlantic Coast until you get to Maine if I don’t hold this seat.”
“The Late Show” host Stephen Colbert found this claim particularly interesting on Tuesday night – considering, well, Pennsylvania is not a coastal state.
“Oz made his case to represent Pennsylvania while also demonstrating he does not know where Pennsylvania is,” Colbert said.
The comedian then mocked the Republican senatorial candidate by faux insisting that, actually, Pennsylvania did share a coast with the Atlantic shoreline.
“Yes, the Atlantic Coast of Pennsylvania,” Colbert began. “From the sunny beaches of Scranton to the white sands of Allentown!”
He continued: “Of course, Pennsylvania has a long association with the ocean, otherwise how could I own this very real CD: ‘Now That’s What I Call Songs About the Beaches of Pennsylvania.’ It’s got timeless classics like: ‘Sittin’ on the Dock of the Wawa,’ ‘Wasting Away in Yuengline-ville,’ ‘Wish They Could All Be King of Prussia Girls,’ and ‘Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weeny Pennsylvania Dutch Bikini.'”
