Cody Simpson Graduates High School, Calls Intelligence ‘Sexiest Thing’ During Speech: Watch

Cody Simpson may lead a busy life as a pop star, but that hasn’t stopped the 17-year-old artist from finishing high school.

The “Surfboard” singer graduated as valedictorian from a high school in Atlanta on May 22 and offered his fellow classmates some advice during a speech.

“Something that I’ve learned, due to a lot of experiences of mine, is that it is possible to finish high school amidst having a very busy schedule and amidst working relentlessly towards chasing my wildest dreams,” Simpson said.

The Australian native, who recently appeared on “Dancing With The Stars,” went on to tell the graduating class that “intelligence is the sexiest thing in the entire world.”

“It’s what’s in here that’s going to get you the furthest, regardless of any kind of wealth or looks or material possessions,” he said, pointing to his head.

Simpson will perform across Europe this summer in support of his 2013 releases, “Surfer’s Paradise” and The Acoustic Sessions.”
