On this bourbon club and restaurant’s website, there’s an option to take a virtual tour as if to say, “This is a place you gotta see.”

When you step inside Watch Hill Proper, 11201 River Beauty Loop in Prospect, there’s indeed plenty to see. Your eyes might bounce from the towering shelves of bourbon behind the bar to the premium bottles behind glass to the luxury-style leather seats.

And that’s before anything has been ordered.

After opening in April 2022 in Norton Commons, Watch Hill Proper has continued to expand its extensive whiskey collection. It now boasts more than 1,900 bottles.

The swanky space with multiple rooms offers a unique cocktail program, which includes the fun “Katniss Cosmo.” The pink cocktail served in a bird-shaped glass, is a tribute to Louisville native Jennifer Lawrence’s role in “The Hunger Games” movie franchise.

Watch Hill Proper often adds seasonal items to its menu, such as a recently-added peppermint Old Fashioned. It also hosts live music on Thursdays, cocktail classes, and other events.

Menu items include appetizers such as steak tartare and a lobster hushpuppy and entrees include pasta bolognese, duck cassoulet, and short ribs.
