Coachella 2024: Weekend One Highlights Include Kesha's Lyric Change and Billie Eilish's PDA

Coachella: Come for the music, stay for the celebrity spotting. The annual festival in Indio, California, takes place over two weekends and is ground zero for celebrity gossip. In 2023, we saw the start of Kylothée. And the first weekend of 2024 brought plenty of surprises too.

The Traylor of it all

Accompanied by boyfriend Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift attended the first weekend of the festival to see friends and industry peers. This marks her second Coachella appearance–she attended back in the days of Calvin Harris and Bleachella. While they were visiting this this past weekend, Swift and Kelce were joined by friend Ice Spice to take in the Dom Dolla show, where Kelce effortlessly lifted Swift above the crowd so she could get a better look at the stage.

Taylor Swift and…Teresa Giudice?

Swift said “Ice Spice” and the world heard “Giudice.” The Real Housewives star was one of the lucky few to get a picture with the superstar. A picture that, frankly, left us with a lot of questions.

Kesha called out Diddy

Kesha's breakout song “Tik Tok” (unrelated to the clock app), famously begins with the line “wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy.” But understandably, Kesha didn't want to sing that while the rapper is under investigation for alleged sex trafficking. When Kesha joined Renée Rapp on stage, they performed the song with the altered line “Wake up in the morning like F*** P. Diddy,” per Deadline.

Olivia Rodrigo joined No Doubt

Headlining band No Doubt was joined by a very special guest during their set, a collab we should have seen coming after Olivia Rodrigo praised Gwen Stefani in Nylon.

Billie Eilish kissed a new friend!

Lana Del Rey brought out Billie Eilish for a surprise duet during her set, but Eilish's most exciting moment of the weekend was offstage, when she possibly soft-launched a new girlfriend. Eilish was spotted kissing and dancing with content creator Quenlin Blackwell, though the pair are friends and might have just been having fun, per TMZ.

Rihanna and Rocky had a date night

With two kids under two at home, the festival must seem downright peaceful for the couple. A$AP Rocky actually joined fellow rapper Tyler the Creator onstage before taking in the rest of the show with his lady, per People.

Evan Peters got his makeout on

Is it weird to film a stranger kissing someone and squeezing their butt? A little. But also, this is the must public public display of affection possible, and everyone's filming everything at Coachella anyway. Good for Peters and whoever this girl is!
