And while they certainly act like they’re still in the honeymoon stage, the two have actually been together for a few years, since their romance apparently began in fall of 2021.

April 2024: Justin and Kate look so in love during a stroll in L.A.
On another stroll with Bosworth’s dog, Happy, the pair look so in love. The two laugh, smile, and kiss on the streets of L.A.
Both coordinate in different shades of blue for their springtime date, with Long wearing a blue-and-brown plaid button-up over a coral tee and cobalt joggers, and Bosworth sporting a denim top left hanging open to reveal her white shirt and pinstripe drawstring pants. While sauntering in the sunshine, the pair also stop for smoothies at the grocery chain Erewhon.
December 2023: They engage in more PDA in Pasadena.
The winter weather can’t keep Long and Bosworth down. While spotted in the streets of Pasadena, California, the pair are seen cuddling in each other’s arms as they walk Bosworth’s Blue Picardy French Spaniel, Happy. At a couple points, the pair even stop their walk to share a kiss.
Both look cozy in their going-out ensembles, with Bosworth choosing a breezy blue-and-white striped top and jean shorts, which she pairs with black thong sandals and a straw bag. Meanwhile, Long evokes Americana with his red plaid button-up, which he layers over a white tee and blue jeans, while adding a pair of brown workwear boots and a green New York Jets baseball cap.
November 2023: The pair attend Parkinson’s Foundation event.
Months after the pair secretly tie the knot, they attend another red carpet event in support of the Michael J. Fox Foundation’s annual gala—called “A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Cure Parkinson’s”—at Casa Cipriani in New York.
For the fundraiser, Bosworth wears a black square-neck dress with a sparkly silver strip along the top hem and a large floral pin, which pairs well with her clasp-closure clutch. Meanwhile, Long opts for a navy blue tuxedo jacket which he layers over a white dress shirt, and pairs with matching slacks.
May 2023: Justin reveals that he and Kate have already tied the knot.
Only a month after confirming their engagement, Long spills that he and Bosworth are married when he subtly refers to her as his “now-wife” during an episode of his podcast (the place where all the couple’s relationship secrets come to life).
While talking about filming the movie Barbarian in Bulgaria, Long says, “I was there while I was like really falling in love with my now-wife and so she came to visit and I had never been comfortable with…set visits I was never crazy about. I liked separating the relationship and the...I don't know. But I loved having her there and we just had the most magical time. It helped me having her there. She’d help me with scenes. It was the best.”
According to a source who chats with Page Six, the couple had a very impromptu wedding at The Rockaway Hotel in Queens, NY. “It was a very low-key ceremony,” the insider says. “Onlookers thought it was an engagement photo shoot of some sort—not an actual wedding.”
Apparently, Long and Bosworth saw the venue and immediately wanted it. “They fell in love with the vibe of the hotel, and they decided to get married the next day right then and there!” the insider adds.
April 2023: The couple confirm their engagement.
After showing off her sparkler, Bosworth visits Long’s Life Is Short podcast, where they discuss their relationship and ultimately confirm their engagement.
“I thought it was the most romantic and honest and loving proposal,” the Blue Crush star says.
Long divulges that he had originally planned something around Bosworth’s 40th birthday, but the actual proposal turned out to be much more unexpected, but equally sweet.
“[It] felt so organic,” Long adds. “[It] connected to something very, very deeply, profoundly personal that we were going through — like, a real-life change — and so it came out in a very organic way.”
March 2023: They make their red carpet debut at an Oscars after-party...and spark engagement rumors.
Over a year after becoming an item, the pair make their red carpet debut as a couple when they attend the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party together in March 2023.
For the glamorous event, Bosworth dons a two-tone Monique Lhuillier dress, which features a black, heart-shaped bodice and a cream A-line skirt that slightly swirls around her legs. Oh, and she also sports a giant silver sparkler on *that* finger, which fuels rumors that she and Long have gotten engaged.
Meanwhile, Long opts for a classic black tuxedo, which ends up pairing perfectly with Bosworth’s dress.
May 2022: Justin makes their romance Instagram official.
After a few public outings, the Dodgeball actor makes their relationship Instagram official when he shares a carousel of photos that see him and Bosworth enjoying a glass of Guinness together. In the caption, Long simply puts emojis of a green heart and the Irish flag.
May 2022: The pair engage in PDA on the streets of New York City.
While walking through the streets of New York City, Long and Bosworth are seen smiling and laughing, as well as wrapping their arms around one another and holding hands. This moment arrives only weeks after the pair were spotted kissing in Hawaii, seemingly confirming their relationship to the public.
For the outing, Bosworth wears a cream top and matching baseball cap, which she pairs with distressed jean shorts and see-through black flats that are tied with satin straps around her ankles. Meanwhile, Long sports an olive green tee and royal blue joggers, adding black sneakers and a two-tone cap to round out the ’fit.
April 2022: Justin says he found “the one.”
While stopping by the Vaill Files podcast, Long seemingly alludes to his relationship with Bosworth once again, calling her “the one.”
“I had gotten to a place where I was comfortable with myself,” the comedic star confesses. “I didn't know it at the time, but I was ready for the one...And the one, I met. I found.”
As an explanation for the secrecy of their relationship, Long adds, “I want to [talk about it], but I also want to be protective. I want to scream it from the rooftops, but I also want to be protective. It’s sacred.”
December 2021: Justin confirms he is dating someone on Life Is Short podcast.
During an episode of Life Is Short with Justin Long, the podcast host reveals his relationship status while chatting with guest Fortune Feimster.
As the pair discuss pizza toppings, Feimster says that her go-to is pineapple, to which Long responds, “It's funny, my girlfriend said hers is—she loves the pineapple, too. I’ve never been with anyone who likes pineapple on pizza.” However, Long does not mention Bosworth by name.
Fall 2021: Rumors of their relationship start swirling.
After Bosworth announces her separation from husband Michael Polish in August, rumors start swirling that she and Long are in a romantic relationship.
One user tells the Instagram gossip blog Deuxmoi, “Justin Long and Kate Bosworth are dating,” and other users corroborate the rumor.
May 2021: The pair wrap filming on House of Darkness.
In 2021, Long and Bosworth film two movies together: Barbarian and House of Darkness. Production on the latter wraps first, and that May, Bosworth makes a glowing Instagram post about her time with Long.
“There are some movie experiences when you learn a lotttttt about another person,” she writes. “Well, we just wrapped one of those — all night shoots, working 6 day weeks. The exhaustion & insanity was off the grid. Holy moly @justinlong you are a truly spectacular / fun / funny / kind / rare / thoughtful / totally. fckn. rad human being. 🌻 THANK YOU for lifting us up... you kept it light & full of laughter daily, even through the toughest moments. In her slideshow, Bosworth adds photos of her and Long hanging out in Fayetteville, Arkansas, while working on the movie. The snaps show the pair playing with cows, sitting in front of gnome murals (hence Bosworth’s gnome joke), and more.
In the comments section, Long writes, “That’s ALL you wrote about me??? Well... I admire your restraint 😜 I joke because this is embarrassing and too much. But, as Dustrea taught me, I accept it w gratitude and, when I can, I’m going to say even nicer things about you publicly because people should know what a rare gem you are - all the things you said about me but a little bit (or a lot) more.
