CNN’s ‘Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace’ Returns as a Max Exclusive for Season Four (Exclusive)

CNN is bringing back the interview series Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace? for a fourth season, but this time the show will be exclusive to the streaming platform Max.

New episodes will become available to stream on CNN Max, the streaming news hub within the Max platform. Episodes will drop Fridays, beginning with an interview with director Oliver Stone, which will debut Sep. 29. Other guests booked for the new season include musician Jon Batiste, sportscaster Al Michaels and finance guru Suze Orman.

Wallace left Fox News in late 2021 to join CNN+, the cable news channel’s first go at a streaming service, and the first season of his show debuted on the streaming platform before it was ignominiously shut down after only a month.

The program returned later that year, but with a twist: The full-length interviews would stream on HBO Max, while they would also be edited down into a one-hour program that would air on CNN Sunday nights. That format continued with its third season, which debuted earlier this year (though the CNN program moved to Friday nights).

Now, the program is once again becoming a launch exclusive for a streaming service, but this time it’s for the CNN Max offering, which launches in beta Sept. 27.

That being said, Wallace will not be leaving CNN’s linear channel. CNN announced an overhaul of its lineup in August, one that will see Wallace host a new 10 a.m. Saturday morning program called The Chris Wallace Show. Featuring “sharp commentary and high-energy discussions, the weekly program will make sense of breaking news, the latest developments in the 2024 presidential race, and set the agenda for what’s next,” CNN says.

“It’s been exciting to bring in such a wide range of guests for thought-provoking conversations throughout our first three seasons, and our fourth will be no different,” said Wallace in a statement. “I’m also looking forward to bringing The Chris Wallace Show to CNN, featuring some of the most incisive commentators and columnists. As we head into yet another pivotal election cycle, nothing is off-limits as we tackle the most important issues facing the country.”
