CMT Music Awards 2023: The Complete Winners List

Musicians and fans from across the country came together on Sunday for the 2023 CMT Music Awards. Kelsea Ballerini and Kane Brown hosted the ceremony and Noah Schnapp of Stranger Things announced the first winner — Hardy’s “Wait in the Truck” featuring Lainey Wilson, for Collaborative Video of the Year. Megan Moroney won Breakthrough Female Video of the Year for her single “Tennessee Orange,” and Jelly Roll took home the award for Breakthrough Male Video of the Year for “Son of a Sinner” shortly after. Kane and Katelyn Brown took home the night’s top prize, the coveted Video of the Year award for their duet “Thank God.”

Ahead of the broadcast, the Video of the Year field was narrowed to six finalists, and then three on the final day. Those finalists included Carrie Underwood’s “Hate My Heart,” Hardy’s “Wait in the Truck” featuring Lainey Wilson, and Kane and Katelyn Brown’s “Thank God.”

The night also saw performances by Ballerini and “RuPaul’s Drag Race” queens, Jelly Roll, and a special tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd by Slash, Billy Gibbons, and Cody Johnson.
