Friday on "The Talk" country music artist Mickey Guyton shares excitement about co-hosting the 55th Academy of Country Music Awards with Keith Urban. "I'm most excited about, first of all, it's in Nashville and it's at so many different Nashville historical places like the Bluebird Cafe, at the mother church of country music, The Ryman, at The Opry House...and that is something that is so important. And also, there will be a small audience of Vanderbilt healthcare workers, who've all been vaccinated and socially distanced," Guyton says. As a member of the ACM's Diversity Taskforce, she shares, "We have done so much educating and researching and reading all the data of the disparity in the genre. We've worked so hard to make sure this genre is inclusive, not only behind the scenes but in front of the camera as well...There is a Black woman that is writing for the show." She adds, "I've seen these beautiful people. These White people behind the scenes, fighting relentlessly to make that happen. And that needs to be acknowledged, and I need people to hear that because it's so important in the time that we're in today.'
