Paul Cattermole, who is best known as a member of S Club 7, has passed away at the age of 46.

The news was announced on S Club 7's Twitter account, just a few months after the group announced their comeback. In a joint statement, the group wrote that they are "truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul," and continued saying:

There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have. He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and of the band at this time.

The BBC reported that the singer unexpectedly died on Thursday, April 6, and the cause of death is unknown. However, a statement from Cattermole’s bandmates and family clarified that “there are no suspicious circumstances,” regarding his death. The full statement, via BBC, reads:

While the cause of death is currently unknown, Dorset Police has confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances. Paul's family, friends and fellow members of S Club request privacy at this time.

S Club 7 was one of the best-known pop groups of the late '90s and early '00s, and they had hits like “Bring It All Back,” “S Club Party,” "Reach" and "Don't Stop Moving." The group of seven went on to have four number-one hits in the UK, and they sold more than 10 million albums globally.

Formed in 1998, the group was founded by the Spice Girls' former manager Simon Fuller. It was made up of seven singers, inducing Cattermole, Jo O’Meara, Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, Rachel Stevens, Bradley McIntosh and Hannah Spearritt.

Cattermole officially left the group in 2002, three years after its formation, and reunited with his metal band Skua. Over the years, S Club 7 has had partial reunions, and a full one in 2014. They announced their reunion tour in February, and have tickets on sale for 17 shows in arenas across the UK and Ireland to celebrate their 25th anniversary and bring back that ‘90s nostalgia people are craving.

Along with the group's music career, they also had a BBC TV show called Miami 7 that ran for four seasons.

In the years following S Club 7’s separation, Cattermole went on to tour for a short time with The Rocky Horror Picture Show, worked as a community radio manager in his hometown, according to The Guardian, and he performed tarot card readings. In 2014 he reunited with the band for a reunion tour, and he was set to go on tour with them again this year.

Paul Cattermole will be dearly missed, and we at CinemaBlend send our condolences to his family, friends and fans during this difficult time.
