S Club 7 member Paul Cattermole dies at 46, months after band announces reunion tour

Paul Cattermole, member of English pop band S Club 7, known for their hits "Don’t Stop Movin'," "Reach" and "Never Had A Dream Come True," has died. He was 46.

The band confirmed his death on social media Friday, writing that the members are "truly devastated" by the news.

"There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have," the band's account wrote. "He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and of the band at this time."

The band and Cattermole’s family said Friday Cattermole was found at his home in Dorset, southwest England, on Thursday and pronounced dead later that afternoon.

'While the cause of death is currently unknown, Dorset Police has confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances," they said.

The 7-member pop group was formed in the late '90s by Simon Fuller, who also managed the Spice Girls, and included Cattermole, Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh, Jo O'Meara, Hannah Spearritt and Rachel Stevens.

Aside from music, the band also was launched – like The Monkees – through a TV show about a pop band, in which the members played fictionalized versions of themselves in a show called "Miami 7" in the U.K. and "S Club 7 in Miami" in the U.S.

In 2002, the group performed at a Buckingham Palace concert to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s 50 years on the throne.

S Club 7 disbanded in the early 2000's with Cattermole taking his exit in 2002, according to a 2019 interview with The Guardian.

"It had got to the point where things were being handled so badly, I had to go," he said.

Cattermole's death comes nearly two months after the band announced a reunion tour celebrating the group's 25th anniversary, set to kick off in October and travel across Ireland and England. The group has not addressed the status of the tour following Cattermole's death.
