Nick Young has Iggy Azalea to thank for keeping him from being the new laughingstock of the NBA.

The L.A. Lakers star’s off-season plans include new ink, but apparently his shooting skills far outweigh his spelling skills. His Australian rapper fiancée — yes, they are still together despite his cheating scandal — saved him from tattooing “born reble,” when he meant rebel, in giant letters across his back. Though she gloated about it and told the whole world, so it’s not the most selfless act.

Here’s how it played out:

Considering how a month ago Young was at the center of a cheating scandal — and their impending marriage seemed up in the air — it was mighty kind on the “Fancy” singer’s part. To refresh, his teammate D’Angelo Russell secretly recorded him talking about a tryst he had with a girl he met at a club last summer. Despite his indiscretion, she said last week that she hasn’t broken up with him. Their wedding, originally set to take place this year, was pushed back to 2017 even before the cheating scandal made headlines.

While Iggy and Nick have been going through a rocky time, they have their love of tattoos in common. Some of hers include Venus from Sandro Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus painting and the words Trust Your Struggle written in cursive on her arm; Nick, who recently complained about the lack of playing time he had during the season, has many as well but has said the one place he won’t get any is his right arm. Why? Well, that is “strictly for buckets.”

Though, he should probably spend the off-season working on making those buckets. His team finished with a 17-65 record, the fewest wins in franchise history. For his part, Young, who has two years and $11.1 million remaining on his contract, complained about his lack of playing time. Though, ahem:

Nick was seeing red over Iggy revealing his tattoo typo on Twitter — well, according to his chosen emoji. But this topic moves them away from another recent social media spat they’ve been having.

Iggy had criticized Beyoncé for using the name “Becky” (you know, “Becky With the Good Hair”) in her new song “Sorry” because she said it’s considered a nickname for white women who perform sexual favors and she doesn’t “think it’s great to use stereotypical names to describe ANY race.” However, after she tweeted, “Don’t ever call me a Becky,” this popped up in Nick’s feed before he claimed his account was hacked.

Why do we think their tattoos — whether they’re spelled correctly or incorrectly — will last longer than their relationship will?
