Clinton artists at Quad-City International Airport

Mar. 25—Paintings by Clinton artists Debora Stewart and Larry Jon Davis are on display now through April 22 at the Quad-City International Airport. The exhibit is sponsored by Quad-City Arts, Rock Island, Illinois.

Stewart is a Clinton resident and has received numerous awards for her work and is a nationally and internationally known artist. She is a Master Pastelist with the Pastel Society of America and the author of "Abstract Art Painting: Expressions in Mixed Media," published by Random House. She has taught workshops for artists throughout the US.

Stewart's work is based on abstractions of nature and florals in soft pastel and also canvas. Her studio is at 415 South Second Street in Clinton.

Davis is a well-known native of Clinton who now resides in Knoxville, Illinois. Many are familiar with his more representational works created while living in Clinton. He painted many well-known Clinton landmarks including vistas in Eagle Point Park and the old Clinton High School.

His current work includes abstractions and semi realistic works in oil and cold wax. Influences include landscapes inspired by the Mississippi River and surrounding topography as well as beautiful figuartive works.

Davis is a well-respected artist and instructor of many Clinton residents. He also taught in Florida for25 years before returning to the Midwest. Larry is represented by Addington Gallery in Chicago.

In the future, Stewart will also exhibit a selection of Larry's works in her downtown Clinton studio.
