Clemson basketball will put its newly awarded national ranking on the line and try to keep a perfect ACC record Tuesday night at Wake Forest.
The Tigers are in the Top 25 for the first time in two years, voted Monday at No. 19 in both the Associated Press and USA TODAY coaches’ polls.
Clemson (15-3, 7-0) will try to score an eighth straight victory. The Tigers are coming off a 72-64 win against previous No. 21 Duke. They are off to their best ACC start in history after having been picked for 11th place in the preseason poll.
Wake Forest (13-5, 5-2) is 9-0 at home. The Demon Deacons have won five of their past six, the only loss being 88-79 at North Carolina.
Clemson leads the ACC in shooting percentage defense (39.4) and is third in shooting offense (47.1). Wake Forest is 11th in shooting defense (44.1) Clemson is also the league's best free-throw shooting team (78.9) and second-best 3-point shooting team (38.0).
