Claudia Conway made national waves with her anti-Donald Trump TikTok videos in July. Now she is hoping to make a splash as a singer on the next season of "American Idol."

Conway, 16, the daughter of former White House counselor Kellyanne Conway and conservative Trump-critic George, posted a TikTok video Sunday disclosing the audition.

"Hey guys, I'm here at 'American Idol' confessional," the beaming Conway said in the video from an "American Idol" stage, before flashing over to a waiting film crew. "I met Ryan Seacrest today and have my audition soon. I'm very, very nervous, but very excited."

"Idol" judge Katy Perry jumped into the fray Monday, posting a video on her Instagram stories welcoming Conway's high-profile efforts to land a spot on the singing competition.

"Well, well, well, let the games begin," said Perry stone-faced into the camera. "Because Claudia just tried out for 'American Idol.' "

Perry then turned the camera onto a giggling Conway, who waved and said "Hi!"

George Conway signaled his support for the audition, lip-syncing to "Potential Breakup Song" by Aly & AJ for a TikTok video Claudia posted Monday.

ABC has put out the national call for a new, fourth season of the singing competition to begin Feb. 14, proclaiming, "There are singers, then there are idols." Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie will judge with host Seacrest and in-house mentor Bobby Bones.

Conway has shown she has pipes, posting singing videos on her TikTok account.

Having turned 16 and allowed to try-out for "Idol," Conway is already a pop culture darling, having amassed a massive following on social media where she posts anti-Trump and pro-Black Lives Matter videos.

Her TikTok account has 1.4 million followers, spiking into the national conversation in July with Conway's frequent videos detailing an insider's view of the Trump administration's COVID-19 crisis from her own home.

"I know a lot of my friends are so informed and I think they wouldn't be if it weren't for social media, which is why I think using one's platform for good and for the education of others is so, so important, especially in our day," Conway told USA TODAY in July.

One of the Conways' four children, Claudia said she holds the opposite political views of her mother and most family members. She and her mother sometimes get into political arguments, but have a "best friend" relationship, she said.

Media representatives from "American Idol" declined to comment on the audition.
