Clarkson's Farm smashes Amazon Prime Video UK viewing records

Jeremy Clarkson's farm show has apparently smashed viewing records.

Clarkson’s Farm – which follows the former Top Gear star as he gets to grips with running his Diddly Squat Farm – returned this month for a second series.

And figures from the Broadcasters' Audience Research Board (BARB) show that the series premiere of the Amazon Prime show was watched by almost 4.3 million TV viewers.

According to Deadline, the programme has now become Amazon’s most-watched original show in the UK since data for major streaming services started being collected.

Clarkson’s Farm was also in 16th place in BARB’s list of the top 50 shows for the week commencing 6 February.

The premiere episode beat the likes of the Brit Awards (3.7 million) and Amanda Holden and Alan Carr's Italian Job show (3 million) in the ratings.

It also ranked higher than a couple of episodes of Love Island, which landed around 2.95 and 3 million viewers.

The second and third instalments of Clarkson's Farm almost fared well, with the second episode watched by 3.7 million on TV and the third pulling in 3.2 million.

The series set on the farm in Chipping Norton started in 2021 and was a huge hit with viewers, getting the green light for a third run before the second season even aired.

The latest series started earlier in February and is expected to see the introduction of new animals and crops to the farm, as well as the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? host’s dealings with the local council as he attempts to diversify his operation with a restaurant.
