Clark Gregg vs. Hayley Atwell: Who Won Lip Sync Battle's Marvel Showdown?
Two of Marvel’s finest — Agent Carter‘s Hayley Atwell and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s Clark Gregg — collided Thursday on the Lip Sync Battle stage for a series of performances that were truly… inhuman.
Round 1 began innocently enough, with Atwell perfauxming The Offspring’s “Pretty Fly (For a White Guy),” but Gregg proved himself to be the true fly white guy of the evening with a surprisingly epic lip syncing of Wreck-X-N-Effect’s “Rump Shaker.”
Speaking of Gregg being fly, Round 2 found TV’s Coulson going undercover like never before, slinking into Britney Spears’ iconic blue flight attendant outfit for a killer performance of “Toxic.” (Special shout-out to Jennifer Grey for stepping in as the suited passenger with whom her husband got down and dirty.)
But Agent Carter wasn’t about to go down without a fight. Atwell re-emerged for Round 2 — and when I say “re-emerged,” I mean she literally crawled out of a big white pod — to the tune of Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance.” The freaky costumes, the hands-y backup dancers… it was all very Gaga.
In the end, though, Atwell’s inner Gaga proved no match for Gregg’s gams. Her consolation prize was a mention in his victory speech: “It’s just an honor to compete with this amazing woman.”
