City Girls’ JT has dropped a new solo single, “Sideways,” along with a lively music video for the track. On the song, the rapper narrows in on girls who are “phony.”

“Bitch, I ain’t friendly, I don’t fuck with y’all bitches (At all),” she raps. “Try to take who? It ain’t enough of y’all bitches/ Hoes so phony, got me lookin’ at ’em sideways.”

The song previews JT’s forthcoming solo EP and marks the beginning of a new chapter for the artist, according to a press release. The EP has yet to get a release date or title.

“I’m excited about dropping solo music because I can focus more on my creativity,” JT explained in a statement. “I love everything about being an artist! I just wanna chill, look good and drop pretty cocky bitch music. I’m the City Cinderella!”

She added of the single, “’Sideways’ is a mood! Sometimes women are forced to be friends with everyone and if we decide to stay to our self they call us mean. Most of these b*tches nosey & phony! I love my b*tches though, the real ones. Shout out to the real b*tches!”

Last July, JT, one half of City Girls with Yung Miami, released “No Bars,” her first new solo single since 2019’s “JT First Day Out.” JT also teamed up with Kali Uchis on “Muñekita” and appeared on Nicki Minaj’s “Super Freaky Girl (Queen Mix)” and Summer Walker’s “Ex for a Reason.” In 2022, City Girls released “Good Love,” which featured Usher.
