City Girls' JT Released From Prison Early, Yung Miami Celebrates
City Girls JT is officially out of prison and already dropping new music.
According to court records, JT (aka Jatavia Johnson) is no longer in the custody of the Bureau of Prisons.
Yung Miami, the other half of City Girls, announced the news on social media. She wrote, “YOU BI-CHES IN TROUBLE!! MY BI-CH HOME! ❤️🎈 @thegirljt”
26-year-old JT was incarcerated in a Tallahassee prison and her original scheduled release date was March 21, 2020.

Name-Dropping Drake Helped City Girls Rapper J.T. Delay Prison Check-in
City Girls celebrated JT’s release by dropping a new track titled “JT First Day Out.”
Last year, JT. started a 24 months prison sentence after surrendering on June 25, 2018, for charges relating to felony identity theft. She will have to complete one year of probation following her release.
Prosecutors claimed that between September 2016 through April 2017, Johnson allegedly used three different peoples credit cards and spending more than $1,000. She was facing up to 10 years in prison on the charges.
As The Blast first reported, JT was able to successfully push back her prison check-in date by name dropping Drake to the judge, saying City Girls was about to blow up and she needed to wrap up some projects before starting her sentence. The judge granted the motion and gave JT. an additional 30 days back at the time.
Back in May, the rapper attempted to leave prison early. Her lawyer argued, “The Defendant, also known as JT in the music industry, is one of two girls that make up the rap duo City Girls. Beginning around her change of plea City Girls became a force in the music industry. They have grown an intense fan base and have developed relationships with the elite of the elite.” She told the judge she wanted to get back to the studio and work.
Her lawyer continued, “It is without hesitation that I can proffer that you will never hear from this Defendant regarding any type of crime, much less an economic one. Granting this recommendation will allow the Defendant to get back to the studio where she belongs.”
The judge came back and denied the motion.
