The series premiered on Showtime on January 17, 2016, with season 8 airing from February 26, 2023, to November 12, 2023. Is there a The Circus Season 9 release date?
There is no The Circus Season 9 release date as the series was reportedly canceled after eight seasons.
In November 2023, it was reported that Showtime had decided not to renew The Circus for the 9th season. Mark McKinnon reportedly said in an interview that The Circus “was designed to be one and done. … So this show has gone on seven more seasons than we planned.”
John Heilemann echoed his fellow co-creator’s sentiments. “We all just feel really blessed for having had the chance to do it for as long as we did.”
The series is hosted by John Heilemann, Mark McKinnon, and Jennifer Palmieri.
Why The Circus Season 9 isn’t happening
