The Circle is about to feature another dramatic twist, with two brand new players entering the game in tonight's episode (March 21) – and what's more, they're both catfishes.

Natalya, a military policewoman from Reigate, and Scott, an actor from Manchester, will both be seen settling into life in the block of flats tonight, but neither of the pair will be playing as themselves.

Natalya is taking on the role of paratrooper Felix and she has revealed that she thinks she's created "the perfect man" in Felix.

"He's every childhood boy's dream, he's an action hero, he's good looking, I think he's got it all," she said. "He's got the females on side because he's going to be charming and sweet and he's got my softness behind his character.

"He's the ideal soldier guy so he's respected in society and he's got a job that everyone admires and loves. I just don't know how I could go wrong. I mean I probably might, but he seems like the ideal guy!"

Revealing that she is "a really quick judge of character" and therefore potentially skilled at sussing out any other catfishing players, Natalya said that she isn't expecting too much of a backlash for being a catfish as she isn't playing somebody too far removed from herself.

"I don't think if I was revealed as a female people would hate me straightaway," she said. "I'm the same person, I'm just male instead of female. I don't think the backlash will be as strong as it might be with a different kind of catfish. I could be wrong and I'm prepared for it, but I think it's a nice message. There's nothing malicious about it."

Natalya added that she is pleased to be representing a female working in the military by taking part in the show, saying that she hopes to be a "positive influence".

"It would be nice to say that a female in armed forces can still retain her femininity as well as being a successful soldier," she said. "I think the more powerful meaning behind it is that, I can do exactly the same as what any man can do, but because of my gender it's not always been seen as the case...

"It would be nice to have a positive influence, especially on a younger audience."

Scott, meanwhile, is playing as his own 85-year-old nan, Dorothy, and it sounds like Dorothy is delighted to be represented on TV by her grandson.

"She loves reality TV – Big Brother, I'm a Celebrity, we have phone calls when they would go on ad breaks to compare thoughts – we were obsessed!" Scott said. "So, as soon as I said 'I want to be you' she was like, 'Oh my god'.

"At first, she thought I was going in, dressed in a wig with a cardie pretending to be her and I was like 'No, it's not that sort of show!' But I explained what The Circle is and she's thrilled."

Being an actor, Scott is used to playing different roles and he revealed that he plans to use his talents to his advantage.

"Initially I thought I would go in as myself, I'm an actor and I play lots of different parts, but then I thought I could use those skills to my advantage," he said. "I'm used to playing different characters so maybe this is my secret weapon."

As for how he'll be playing the game on The Circle, Scott admitted that he's hoping to play to the other contestants' love for their own families by becoming a nan to the whole group.

"I want to be The Circle nan. I want to be that person that everyone goes to for advice," he said. "I'm going to use her age as my secret weapon really, because when you're in that environment you do miss your family.

"I know if I was going in there as myself and I saw an elderly woman who looks like my nan, I'd be drawn to her and want to keep her in because who doesn't love a nan? Everybody loves a nan. She's lived on this Earth for 85 years so you would trust her and you would want to know about her."

The Circle continues tonight (March 21) at 10pm on Channel 4 and All 4.
