BAILEE MADISON: The idea of getting to combine my two loves of music and acting is always really exciting for me. And so this came along, and by page five I was in a musical number. And I was like, great. Let's do it.
MICHELLE JOHNSTON: In this film the music is a little bit different than in the other films because of the setting. So it lends itself more toward sort of a Taylor Swift, country western kind of a vibe. So when we started to get into the choreography of this I really wanted to have a sense of two different worlds. The world of the slick Hollywood production, where everything is highly choreographed, and then I wanted to contrast that with this sort of freedom and almost childish abandon. And what is natural in everybody. This sort of just dancing like nobody's there.
