Cincinnati man charged in rape, kidnapping of woman he met on social media

A Cincinnati man facing kidnapping and rape charges was arrested on Thursday.

Investigators said on Aug. 1, a woman reported being forcibly raped by a man to the Boone County Sheriff's Office.

According to investigators, on July 29, the woman met Jamal L. Richardson, 29, of Cincinnati, through social media.

That same day, Richardson picked the woman up to drive her to her grandmother’s home, investigators said.

According to police, once in the car, Richardson began repeatedly punching the woman in the face and insinuated to her he was armed with a weapon.

The woman told police Richardson punched her about 20 times and that she feared he would kill her if she attempted to flee.

Police said Richardson parked the vehicle in a gravel parking lot on Mineola Pike at Dolwick Drive and told her to remove her clothes.

Police said Richardson raped the woman and then drove away, leaving her stranded in the lot.

Richardson has been charged with rape, sodomy and kidnapping.

He is currently in custody at the Warren County Jail on a $500,000 bond, where he will await extradition to Boone County.
