Cincinnati’s own Emily Henry rose to acclaim in recent years for her travel-related romance novels, including “Happy Place” and “People We Meet on Vacation,” both of which made The New York Times Best Sellers list.

The author has since earned recognition from another national brand, as Henry recently made the 2023 Time100 Next list, which recognizes rising leaders in a range of fields, from health to business to the arts. Time launched the annual feature in 2019 to accompany its highly-coveted Most Influential People list.

“Emily knows how to craft a love story like the all-time greats. She pulls on the heartstrings. She knocks you over with the perfect ending. And perhaps most spectacularly, she’s the queen of banter,” best-selling author Taylor Jenkins Reid wrote for Time.

The list also includes Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, model Hailey Bieber, rapper Ice Spice and Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, among others.

Henry, who grew up in Northern Kentucky and Liberty Township, currently lives in Cincinnati.
