Austin’s most iconic Tex-Mex restaurant is moving into the Mueller neighborhood. Chuy’s, which was founded on Barton Springs Road in 1982, will open at 2027 Aldrich St. in the spring.

The restaurant will be located across the street from Mary Elizabeth Branch Park, home to the Texas Farmers Market. It will be the seventh Austin-area location for the brand famous for its enchiladas, fajitas and love of Elvis.

"We are excited to finally be opening a new Chuy's in the Mueller community," Chuy’s chief marketing officer Ashley Ingle said in a release. "Chuy's has strived to remain one of the local favorites in the neighborhoods that make this city great, and we look forward to serving our longtime fans and new generations in East Austin."

Chuy’s Mueller will be open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Weekday happy hour will be offered from 3 to 6 p.m. The company, which went public in 2012, advises customers to follow Chuy's at Mueller's Facebook page for opening updates.
