Has 'Chucky' Star Lachlan Watson Met Fellow Glen And Glenda Actor Billy Boyd?

Lachlan Watson has won over fans by bringing Glen and Glenda to life on “Chucky” and taking over for “Lord Of The Rings” star Billy Boyd. Sadly, despite playing the same character and being a big fan, Watson hasn’t met their character’s counterpart in real life.

Boyd voiced both Glen and Glenda in the fifth movie in the franchise, "Seed Of Chucky," when the twins were living within the body of a doll trying to figure out who they are. One of the appeals in taking the role for Watson was to be in Boyd's orbit. Unfortunately, they still haven’t met the actor but continue to hold out hope they’ll cross paths one day.

“I am absolutely desperate to [meet him],” Watson told USA Insider in a recent interview. “I would love to meet that man and pick his brain. I have been a fan of Billy Boyd since I was so little. I had little Merry and Pippin ‘Lord of the Rings’ action figures, and being a tiny little sprout of a human, ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘Lord of the Rings’ were like my little gay icons.”

Watson noted it didn’t immediately dawn on them how close they were to the franchise they loved until they were cast. However, it didn’t take long before they put it together and were supremely excited about it.

“So I have always loved him dearly and appreciated his work,” they continued. “When I put that together, I screamed for quite some time, but I haven't gotten the opportunity to meet him in person, but I know that it will happen and I'm wondering at this point if the world will explode if we do.”

They added in jest: “But, I think that it would be a rather pleasant way to go, so I'll risk it ... Now we just have to get the other, like, trillion people on board.”

You can see Lachlan Watson bring Boyd’s Glen and Glenda to life in the finale of “Chucky” Season 2 Wednesday at 9/8c on USA Network and SYFY. You can catch past episodes on Peacock now.
