The entertainment world has taken to social media to mourn Tina Turner, who died today (May 24) at the age of 83 at her home in Switzerland, with tributes pouring in from friends, collaborators, and even former President Barack Obama.

“I’m so saddened by the passing of my wonderful friend Tina Turner,” Mick Jagger said. “She was truly an enormously talented performer and singer. She was inspiring, warm, funny and generous. She helped me so much when I was young and I will never forget her.”

More from Spin:

“So deeply sad to hear about Tina Turner’s passing… I loved her version of Proud Mary!” added former Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman John Fogerty, whose band Turner covered with phenomenal success in the 1960s. “It was different and fantastic. I was also so happy because she chose my song and it was her breakthrough record.”
