Most homes aren’t equipped with the type of stereo system that’ll best suit Oppenheimer, but Christopher Nolan has one piece of advice for those wanting to watch the film in their living room: Buy the Blu-ray instead of watching it on an “evil streaming service.”

Nolan attended a recent Los Angeles screening of his latest movie, during which he spoke in more depth about the craft that went into it. He harped on all the extra time and energy spent on creating the Oppenheimer Blu-ray, so that each bomb test sounds as authentic as possible.

“Obviously Oppenheimer has been quite a ride for us and now it is time for me to release a home version of the film. I’ve been working very hard on it for months,” Nolan said [via Variety]. “I’m known for my love of theatrical and put my whole life into that, but, the truth is, the way the film goes out at home is equally important.”

Nolan also recalled the home release of his 2008 film The Dark Knight, and how it was formatted specifically for Blu-ray, which was a new medium at the time. He added that “a lot of care and attention” was put into Oppenheimer‘s Blu-ray, too, encouraging fans to invest in a physical format “so no evil streaming service can come steal it from you.” He has a point; most of us know the pain of Netflix phasing out certain movies and shows on a dime. You can follow Nolan’s advice and purchase Oppenheimer on Blu-ray, DVD, and in 4K here.

Oppenheimer, which stars Cillian Murphy as “father of the atomic bomb” J. Robert Oppenheimer, will be released on Blu-ray on November 21st. Following the film’s record-smashing opening weekend alongside Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, B-movie wiz Charles Band has been working on Barbenheimera “silly” feature about a scientist doll who threatens to blow the world up.
