Christina Perri revealed she's expecting a baby girl a year and a half after suffering a pregnancy loss.

The "Thousand Years" singer, 35, shared the news on Instagram Monday with a video showing her first child Carmella, 4, opening up a gift box and revealing a sonogram. The clip then pans to Perri's baby bump and the parents' smiling faces and ends with Carmella saying, "I love you, mom."

"Rosie sent Carmella a little sister and we’re very excited. we’ve been having all the feelings, but mostly trying everyday to choose joy," Perri captioned the post.

Perri's husband, comedian Paul Costabile, shared the same video on his Instagram page as well captioning it "we've got some news."

In November 2020, the singer shared she was admitted to the hospital with pregnancy complications and revealed that her daughter was "born silent."

"Last night we lost our baby girl," Perri wrote on Instagram at the time. "She was born silent after fighting so hard to make it to our world. She is at peace now and will live forever in our hearts."

The couple shared a solemn photo of holding their baby girl's tiny hand. Their daughter was due in January.

Earlier that year, Perri had spoken openly about another miscarriage she suffered at 11-weeks.

"I am so sad but not ashamed," Perri wrote on Twitter in January 2020. "I am ever reminded how amazing and powerful women are at making life and at healing. To all the mothers who have been here and who will be here, I see you and I love you."

She added: "I am so sad but not discouraged. When the time feels right we will try again, but today, we mourn our little life lost."

Perri adds to a growing list of stars, including Chrissy Teigen, Duchess Meghan, Hilaria Baldwin and Meghan McCain, that have shared their grief with the world to help change the stigma of secrecy and shame surrounding pregnancy loss and miscarriages.
