Christina Perri enjoyed a magical birthday party celebrating daughter Pixie Rose's first birthday.

The "Jar of Hearts" singer, 36, chatted with PEOPLE exclusively about the special event, which was held at the Garland Hotel in Studio City, California's lush gardens, the perfect space to transform into a fairy wonderland.

With help from Orange Blossom Special Events, the space was transformed into "Pixie's ONEderland," and also served as a celebration for Christina’s upcoming lullaby album, Songs for Pixie.

"In keeping with the magical nature of her name Pixie, I wanted a mystical, magical rainbow event for her. She is our double-rainbow baby!! Nothing cuter than fairies, flowers and rainbows," she tells PEOPLE of her younger daughter with husband Paul Costabile.

Guests entered the party through a walkway lined with giant freestanding flowers and were greeted by performance artists dressed as fairies inside. Everyone in attendance was encouraged to dress up with fairy, dragon and knight costumes available as party favors.

A bounce house, ball pit, glitter tattoos and a cotton candy vendor were sure to keep the kids entertained while their parents sipped cocktails in a chic garden setting in stylish lounge furniture from Archive Rentals.

"I absolutely love the details and the activities for all the kids!" Perri shares. "Pixie might not remember this party, but [5½-year-old] big sister Carmella definitely will, and all her friends came, so it brings me a lot of happiness to provide a super fun party that we'll talk about forever!"

Partygoers were treated to an early copy of the album, which is now available for everyone to enjoy.

"When I made Songs for Carmella, I didn't know it would become a tradition or a trilogy, but it has been so fulfilling to me as a mom and a musician," Perri shares. "Especially in grief and now in gratitude, the albums not only represent the last six years of my life and family building but also represent me as a mom in music."

"I sing these songs genuinely to my girls. I am grateful I get to share the sound of my love as a mother," she continues. "Pop songs will come back around soon. Right now, I’m honoring my authentic self and the season of life I am currently in and it feels so good."

Also deeply meaningful to Perri is the response she's gotten to these vulnerable, heartfelt tracks.

"I am deeply grateful for all the love, support and stories I have read about everyone’s love for these albums. I can’t quite explain how much it warms my heart to help soothe your children to sleep or out of a hard moment," she says. "I know exactly how it feels in those moments and it’s an absolute privilege to be in your homes and hearts."

Dessert saw custom mocktails for older kiddos as the birthday girl enjoyed a cake smash, with photos of every second captured by Heather Kincaid photography.

"It's been an absolute dream of a year," the singer says, looking back. "Watching our family grow and Carmella become the big sister we dreamed she would be, has been infinitely heart-warming and fulfilling. After so much loss, the joy Pixie has brought to our family is immeasurable! We feel so lucky to love her and to celebrate her."

As they head into another year, Perri is ready to watch Pixie enter the toddler phase and continue to grow her bond with Carmella.

"Pixie is so ready to run after Carmella. She's taking her first steps, singing, laughing, dancing and really turning into such a fun little girl," the mom raves. "Watching a baby become a toddler is one of my favorite things. She's sassy, and wild, and funny, and sweet!"

Watching the sisters together is Perri's "absolute favorite part" of mom life these days.

"They love each other more than I can even comprehend," she says. "When we lost Rosie, I knew I needed to try again to give Carmella a sibling here on Earth. She was destined for this relationship and it kept me focused and determined to keep trying."

She continues, "I was so anxious and scared but felt such a deep purpose to bring Pixie here. I can hardly explain the peace in my heart knowing she is here and that they love each other like I thought they would. Our family feels complete."
