Christina Hall’s Husband Takes Aim at Her Ex Tarek El Moussa: ‘How Long Does It Take to Wipe the Makeup Off?’

Christina and Josh Hall will face off against Tarek and Heather El Moussa in a new reality competition series for HGTV, they announced this week

Christina Hall’s husband Josh fired back at her ex Tarek El Moussa after he posted an Instagram video making reference to the former couple's rocky relationship.

On Thursday, Tarek, 42, shared a video teasing the just-announced HGTV competition series The Flip Off, in which he'll star alongside his current wife Heather El Moussa, his ex wife Christina and her new husband Josh.

In his Instagram Reel, he can be seen pretending to answer a phone call from Christina. Her name reads “Xtina HaacEIM” in his phone – which The Flipping El Moussas' star revealed in the comments is “a combination of all of her ex-husbands'." She has gone by El Moussa, Haack (her maiden name), Anstead (the name of her second husband) and now Hall.

He also made her caller ID image a photo from an infamous fight the couples had at Tarek and Christina's son's soccer game in 2022.

Josh, 43, weighed in on the video in the comments, writing, “How long does it take you to wipe the makeup off of your phone after taking a call?”

Tarek responded, “I don’t wear makeup. I’m [sic] just naturally look perfect.”

Both shared the conversation onto their Instagram Story where Moussa wrote “@unbrokenjosh thinks he’s slick” and Josh responded, “Not as slick as that foundation you’re wiping on.”

Christina, 40, also commented on the video, writing, “Well… I went to buy your book to get some pointers, but they told me they only carry best sellers.. any idea where I can find it?!” Tarek released his tell-all memoir, Flip Your Life: How to Find Opportunity in Distress—in Real Estate, Business, and Life, in February and detailed his many struggles over the years, including in his marriage to Christina.

Selling Sunset alum Heather, 36, also chimed in with “🤣🤣🤣🤣 here we go.”

The real estate investors and exes starred in the HGTV show Flip or Flop for nine years, even after their divorce, before it wrapped in 2022. Their new series The Flip Off was announced on May 15 and is set to air in early 2025.

In the caption of Moussa’s post, he teases that the show has begun production: “Day one of The Flip Off and @thechristinahall’s already flipping out and asking for help! Should I lend her a hand or grab some popcorn?”

Tarek and Christina were married from 2009 to 2016. In a shared statement after their split, they wrote, “During the process, we are committed to our kids and being the best parents we can be."

They share two children: son Brayden, 8, and daughter Taylor, 13.

Tarek met Heather in 2019 and they were married in 2021 in Montecito, Calif. in front of 150 guests. They welcomed their son Tristan in 2023.

Christina also shares son Hudson, 4, with her second husband Ant Anstead, whom she was married to from 2018 to 2021.

Despite Tarek and Christina’s tumultuous history, the Flipping 101 star told PEOPLE in an exclusive interview in February that their relationship is now "better than it's been ever, since the separation."
