Christina Applegate is a self-proclaimed reality TV aficionado, but that doesn’t mean she has any interest in starring in any related series.

On the latest episode of her and Jamie-Lynn Sigler’s podcast, MeSsy, the actresses spoke about their love of reality TV during a conversation with Martin Short, who has far less interest in the subject.

Applegate, 52, said she’s probably clocked “300 hours of reality television” since she picked up the hobby two years ago after she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. “Probably more,” she admitted.

Despite enjoying watching it, though, she told Short, 74, she would not want to actually spend time with most of the people she sees on screen — though, she once had the opportunity to.

“I was asked to be a Housewife for Beverly Hills,” the Dead to Me star revealed, surprising both Sigler, 42, and Short. “They asked me to be one, probably 10 years ago, I would say.”

“Wow,” the Only Murders in the Building star said at the confession.

“And what's funny is I ended up becoming really good friends with the executive producer of it because our kids went to school together,” Applegate continued. “And he's like, ‘Oh yeah, we asked you.’ I said, ‘Chris, now that you know me, would I have been a fun Housewife?’ He's like, ‘No, it would've been the most boring s--- I've ever seen in my life.’ ”

Applegate agreed that she would not have been a good fit on the long-running series, which premiered in 2010, as she admitted, “I wouldn't have shown up to any dinners.”

“I would've been in my sweatpants and I'd be laying in bed,” she continued. “What fun is that? No, none of that. No, no. I would be the worst housewife anyway.”

While Applegate didn’t take up the offer to join the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the show has attracted interest from some other A-list stars.

Last month alone, Bette Midler admitted in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that the show had even piqued her interest.

"Is it too late for me to become a Real Housewife of Beverly Hills," she wrote in the post. "I’ve never watched it, but I am in the mood to talk some s---. And to get paid for it? A dream! #RHOBH."

The official Bravo account was quick to respond to Midler's inquiry, writing, "Talk about a glorious crossover 😉💎.”

Andy Cohen, the show’s host, also responded to the award-winning actress, 78, writing, “It’s time 💎,” prompting her to suggest a tagline for herself.

"I think my tagline should be, 'Those Beaches don’t know what’s about to hit ‘em!!' " Midler wrote.

RHOBH has found fans in many a Hollywood icon, including the likes of Rihanna, Jennifer Lawrence and Meryl Streep.

In a 2022 interview, Streep admitted she turns to the Bravo series for escapism, while Rihanna recently had a run-in with one of her favorite stars, longtime housewife Kyle Richards, in Aspen in December.

Lawrence, meanwhile, made a call for the ladies of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City to earn an Oscar for their jaw-dropping season 4 finale, which she called "the best finale I have ever seen on reality TV" at the 2024 Golden Globes.

"I'll give them [my Oscar," she told Entertainment Tonight. "They deserve it."
