Christina Anstead is already a seasoned mama — but that doesn’t mean that she’s finding the experience of parenting easy on her third time around!

The Christina on the Coast star recently married Ant Anstead, and gave birth to their first child together: a son, Hudson. She already had two children (nine-year-old Taylor and three-year-old Brayden) from her previous marriage to her Flip or Flop co-star ex-husband Tarek El Moussa. This time around, she’s finding those bleary early days just as hard as ever, she now reveals.

Anstead told Us Weekly that Hudson has “definitely been [the] hardest” of her three kids so far. “He still really just likes being in the house,” she told Us on December 12 while promoting the second season of her solo HGTV show. “He doesn’t like going out. As a very busy family, that’s been very difficult.”

Now that he’s technically not a newborn anymore, however, Anstead finds herself somewhat relieved that things are getting ever so slightly easier.

“Since he hit the three-month mark, he’s been doing a lot better,” she said. “A lot more smiles and coos and sleeping better, so I think we’re on the right track.”

Plus, these days he’s “only waking up on time throughout the night.”

In an Instagram post, Anstead shared more about the differing experiences of her three pregnancies. “3 kids, 3 completely different pregnancies and deliveries,” she captioned a family photo. “I don’t have a normal cycle and the ovulation sticks have never worked for me. That being said, Tay was a natural pregnancy at 25 and my easiest labor. Brayden was an IVF baby and also an emergency c section. Hudson was conceived shortly after Acupuncture treatment I received to help with PCOS… All fertility journeys are complicated and can be physically and emotionally draining.”

Another thing that’s gotten easier for Anstead as time has passed? Her relationship with ex El Moussa. Now more than three years since the pair split, the co-parenting experience is much smoother — and it’s working well for the kids, too, she says.

“It’s definitely gotten a lot easier,” she told Us. “The kids love seeing us sit together and that’s what’s important. Me and Tarek work together still, obviously, [on Flip or Flop], so it’s not like we don’t see each other. And I’m still really close with his family as well.”
