Christina Aguilera Wasn’t Bitter About Being ‘Left Out’ of Britney Spears & Madonna’s VMAs Kiss Headlines

Britney Spears and Madonna made entertainment history with their controversial make out at the 2003 VMAs. However, one piece of information that didn’t make news was the fact that Madonna also smooched Christina Aguilera, since cameras cut away and the kiss didn’t make it to air.

In an interview with Andy Cohen on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy, the host asked Aguilera if the lack of buzz bothered her. “It was weird,” she noted. “And you know why they cut away for it? They cut away to get Justin [Timberlake]’s reaction.” Timberlake was freshly split from Spears at the time.

“I definitely saw the newspaper the next day and it was like, ‘Oh, well I guess I got left out of that one,'” she continued, before noting her own “kick ass” performance of her hit song “Fighter” that night.
