Christina Aguilera inspires sweet performance by Taye Diggs on 'Lip Sync Battle'

It was Christina Aguilera night on Lip Sync Battle as Empire star Taye Diggs and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills housewife Erika Jayne took the stage to honor the iconic singer.

Aguilera was in the house as Jayne kicked off the night with one of the singer’s most popular songs, the empowering hit “Fighter.” Jayne was the spitting image of Xtina, circa 2002’s Stripped, dressed in black leather and, of course, wearing black hair extensions. And when host LL Cool J asked Aguilera what inspired her to write the song, Aguilera said, “As a woman, we are, you know, we’re carved out to have to be fighters. So, cheers to all the female fighters out there and to you, Erika!”

Jayne and Diggs got up close and personal with Aguilera during their performances, but Diggs got real close, and real emotional, as he pretended to find the voice within while performing her soulful hit, “Beautiful.”

Even though Jayne showed that you can’t hold her down as she lip-synced a very colorful performance of “Genie in a Bottle,” Taye didn’t take any Diggs when he ultimately won Christina’s heart, and the belt, due to his performance of “Candyman” and, of course, some sweet white hot shorts.

Lip Sync Battle airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. on Paramount Network.
